"The view from the terrace was fabulous"
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Calcione staying in Casa dell'Alloro. Everyone one at the castle was extremely helpful with directions, use of phone or any other concerns. Casa dell'Alloro was well equipped and comfortable.
We enjoyed making many meals in the kitchen which had all that we required. The view from the balcony/terrace was fabulous and we spent many late afternoons sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine enjoying the beautiful scenery. The quiet of the country setting was wonderful particularly at night.
Although a car is a necessity, excellent grocery stores and restaurants are within a 10-15 minute drive. The location of Calcione also allows for countless day trips to many fascinating towns all within an hours drive. As well, the road systems are excellent and well marked.
We would recommend Calcione to anyone and hope to return ourselves one day.
