"Memorable vacation"
My Fiance' Mike and I recently had the pleasure of staying in your delightful La Casetta. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything imaginable for cooking, and our private patio was a cool and comfortable refuge at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
What a treat to wake up in the morning and watch the horses roaming through the olive groves while we sipped our coffee and planned our day.
The information book that you placed in the apartment was extremely helpful with road directions and local history and events. We referred to it daily as we mapped out our days.
We completely fell in love with Lucignano, the food...the people....the quaint shops. Il Calcione is a perfect home base for touring the beautiful Hills of Tuscany. We managed to visit more places than we originally planned be cause of their proximity to Calcione.
Arezzo for breakfast.... a picnic lunch in Cortona....and Bistecche Fiorentina at Ristorante da Forcillo in Sinalunga... Delightful!!
We travelled to Perugia in the morning and on to Deruta for ceramics then back to La Casetta to relax before dinner. It was very easy to get used to the Tuscan lifestyle. This was a memorable vacation for us in more ways than one. On June 26th we started our day in Pienza, then we went on to Montepulciano where Mike proposed to me at the top of a hill overlooking the countryside.
Our only regret is that we didn't get to meet you till our last day in Casetta but, we are planning to return to your beautiful estate for our Honeymoon in 2 years!
