"Quiet and beautiful"
We really enjoyed our one week stay at Calcione last summer and would definitely recommend it to others. The area is an ideal base for seeing the most beautiful places in Tuscany. We visited Arezzo, Siena, Montepulciano, Perugia and the villages nearby.
The Calcione estate is very quiet and beautiful. La Casetta apartment is spacious, well equipped and very tastefully decorated. The bed is large and comfortable. During our stay it was very hot but we could keep the apartment cool.
The prize feature of La Casetta is the private porch that overlooks the olive groves where you can watch the horses graze. The porch is huge, with a long, wooden table and two benches, perfect for dining al fresco; there are two rush chairs with comfy cushions , perfect for relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine. Also the pool area was very quiet. We were always the only people there.
The apartment is provided with a list of places to eat, to go to, where to find stores. That was very helpful. We really appreciated the bike you put at our disposal. Every morning my husband toured the area and visited the villages nearby. By bike you see places you can never find by car.
