We truly enjoyed our two-week stay at La Fornace. The house is beautiful and spacious. We liked the fact that it was isolated and quiet (especially after spending some time in Rome!).
And, even though we were there during the incredible heat-wave that hit much of Europe this summer, the house stayed comfortably cool. The pristine lake was a welcome site after spending hot days of site-seeing. Our kids loved diving off the dock into the cool water. The only drawback was the road down to La Fornace - it was a tough drive. I'm glad to hear that you are working on improving it. But once we were off that road, Calcione was centrally located and provided easy access to all the places we wanted to see.
