We meant to write to you after our stay at Casa dei Lecci in July, but laziness got in the way! Still, I’m very glad you contacted us because the memories of a superb holiday are as vivid now as the day we returned. Put simply, this was the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. The photos on the website don’t do it justice. It is much roomier than it appears and extremely well appointed
The directions are first class – we arrived without a hitch. Nico met us and we were straight in – no tedious check in routine – and it was the same at the end of the week – very simple and straightforward and on our way in 5 minutes.
The view from the sun terrace is quite simply breathtaking and we spent a lot of time just relaxing there. The swimming pools are clean, well maintained and uncrowded. Lucignano (a 10 minute drive) has everything you need – enough restaurants, a small but well stocked supermarket, a chemist and several interesting little gift shops.
If you’re arriving late, best to bring some basic supplies with you – toilet paper, washing up liquid etc, maybe some salt & pepper. There is an extremely informative folder covering all sorts of useful information – READ IT. We didn’t and ended up catching the slowest train back from Firenze. The pamphlet explained how to avoid this!
Really, I cannot speak highly enough of the whole operation and would be glad to talk to anyone who is considering choosing Calcione. You will not be disappointed.
