"We loved il Calcione"
We loved il Calcione. It was a perfect rural retreat during our month vacation in Italy. It was centrally located so that one could go to the wine towns, Sienna, and even Florence. We chose to spend most of the week at the villa to relax.
I loved the poppy fields, the olive groves, and the lakes on your property. It was a pleasure to see the horses in the pasture every morning and look for the pheasants. We drove to Lucignano most every day and truly enjoyed the cafes at the edge of town. Lucignano is my favorite hill town. The old stone buildings are absolutely beautiful with flowers in front of every residence. It is not very touristy, which we especially appreciated.
It was very kind of your mother to take us on a tour of the castle and the garden as we had requested. Please give her our regards.
The villa Casa del Noce was very warm and inviting with antiques and family photos scattered around the place. All the amenities of home were there. It had the perfect layout for two couples with two bedrooms and baths at either end of the villa. I have recommended it to many of my friends. I would be happy to allow you to post my comments online. I would also be very happy to serve as a reference for anyone interested in vacationing there.
If/when I get back to Tuscany, I will certainly want to stay there again. Thank you for such a wonderful week.
