CASA DEL NOCE
"So much to see, so little time!"
Il Calcione! We had such a wonderful time during our week at Casa del Noce. The apartment was perfectly situated to allow us to visit Arezzo, Ambra (for the fantastic shoe factory outlet), Sinalunga, Firenze, Siena, Montepulciano and Lucignano. So much to see, so little time!
The apartment itself is very tastefully decorated with antiques and paintings, it makes us feel as though we have gone back in time to a simpler and more peaceful lifestyle with all the conveniences of modern living. We truly appreciated the CD player you lent us: soft music was the perfect complement to delicious meals prepared in the comfort of our own apartment. Our children also had a wonderful time watching the horses, swimming in the pool and collecting pine cones while playing on the large grounds. The views from all sides of the house are breathtaking. We were awed by the beauty of the incoming thunderstorm which we watched from the large terrace on the only day we spent lazily around the house and pool. It was fascinating to watch the different weather fronts converge over the house... How did you manage to plan such a great show for us?
We were greeted by a former Canadian Ambassador to Italy in the small supermarket in Lucignano. He was kind enough to help us choose the right mineral water and give us some interesting facts about the village. We even met up with him again another day while visiting the church in Lucignano and recommended a fine restaurant in the village where we had an unforgettable meal.
Though Canada is quite far away from Il Calcione, we hope to return one day.
