"It was SO MUCH MORE than we had hoped for"
I don't know what any of us expected when we rented a 'villa' on line, sight unseen. A computer can do wonders so we were all ready for anything... anything except what we saw when we arrived... it was SO MUCH MORE than we had hoped for. Truly, none of us wanted to leave and threatened Nicoletta with permanent residency!
The house was perfect and extremely comfortable, one could not ask for more. The kitchen was perfect and allowed us to fix a couple meals at home. We got up at our leisure, sipped coffee and enjoyed the morning at the villa, then left to explore. By doing so, we found that we ate our lunch later in the day and by nightfall were able to enjoy our meals at home. The house was so comfortable that we slept very soundly and felt very relaxed when we awoke the next day. We had initially planned on six of us, two to a room, but our group changed and ended up with only three of us, so we each enjoyed our own room and bathroom.
The grounds of the castle are fascinating and I can't tell you how much we enjoyed it. We made an appointment with Nicoletta to tour the castle and I would say that that was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. We didn't have a schedule during our stay in Tuscany but rather looked at the map each day and decided the direction we would travel... and if we arrived at our 'destination', great, if not, so be it. We stopped at any interesting sight and enjoyed the culture of the entire area.
Upon returning I purchased the Luxury Homes in Tuscana that Nicoletta shared with us and have encouraged anyone and everyone I speak with to go visit your castle. Truly amazing. It was a wonderful experience and probably the best vacation I have ever enjoyed.
