CASA DELLA PERGOLA

"Our stay was too short"
Our group had a wonderful time at Casa della Pergola. Our positive experience actually began with your website; it is so well done! We were welcomed graciously by Martino on our arrival day and appreciated his careful and detailed information. The highlights were: to be able to hike and stroll freely on the extensive grounds, to come home to Amel's wonderful dinners, and to explore Lucignano. Lucignano is a jewel; It has all the attractions of a Tuscan hilltown without any of the touristic atmosphere.
We had beautiful Sunday lunch on the terrace of one of the restaurants there, whose name escapes me. (The one that you said had uneven service -- we must have caught them on a good day!)
Our stay was too short and felt hectic, though. It was my husband's first trip to Italy, and he felt like he couldn't take a day "off" just to hang out, but had to get out and drive somewhere everyday. This made the stay feel "busy" and not as relaxing as we had hoped. (But that's our fault, not yours!). A big highlight for my husband, who is Russian, was to visit the main square of a town that is featured in one of Tarkovsky's most significant films "Nostalgia". The story of being there never fails to impress, when told to another Russian.
