"Our week at Calcione was magical"
Calcione is the epitome of a true Tuscan Villa. Our family and friends had a marvelous time there. San Guiseppe is large enough to accommodate everyone and yet with such expansive bedrooms you have a place for peace and quiet time. The surrounding landscape is exactly how you would expect the expect the countryside of Tuscany to appear.
It is breathtaking. The proximity to some many wonderful cities is fabulous. Lucignano, Monte San Savino, and Sinalunga were everyday occurrences for supplies. We day tripped to Assisi, Siena, Cortona, Florence and Montepulciano. On our return we would relax and unwind around the pool. Our best days, were when we would arrive home and Amel, the cook, would have dinner waiting for us. Her meals are a treat beyond belief and she is delightful person to be around in the kitchen. We were trying to learn her secrets. We enjoyed the wine of the estate, perhaps a little too much, and came home with as much olive oil and the castle could spare. Martino, who oversees the estate, was so helpful with cars, transportation, dinner reservations directions, what ever we needed. Our week at Calcione was magical.
