SAN GIUSEPPE
"How sad to say goodbye to your beautiful Il Calcione"
Our group of 11 had a wonderful time staying at San Guiseppe. The house was perfect with plenty of room and privacy for such a large group of friends. The grounds of the estate are just beautiful - we took lots of walks on the property and explored the fields, vineyards, lakes etc.
I even managed to get pictures of the cinghiales at dusk as they were moving across the fields.
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting your father and seeing some of the castle. He is incredibly charming and obviously so proud of Il Calcione's long history in the Della Stufa family. The artifacts in the castle are amazing - especially to Americans whose history is so young. Many of us cannot trace our family back before 1900. It was a truly wonderful experience. Please thank him on behalf of our group for allowing us a glimpse into your family history.
Amel cooked for us three nights and she is terrific. Our meals were great and it was a pleasure for us all to eat together in the dining room after a long day of sightseeing. She is a real treasure!
How sad we all were to say goodbye to your beautiful Il Calcione. It took all week, but I finally figured out the timing of the gate so that I didn't have to stop in the middle of the hill and stall the car! We hope to return some day. We will recommend the property to our friends and travel agents here in the States. On behalf of my group of 11 dear friends, I wish the Della Stufa Family a wonderful year. Many thanks,
